Repair Shop Supervisor (Healdsburg, CA)
Salary range $85,000 to $125,000 per year depending on experience
Employment type: full-time
Summary:
The Repair Supervisor contributes to the growth and profitability of the company through efficient management of the Repair Shop team. The Repair Supervisor is responsible for leading the repair shop in the timely preparation of new and used equipment for sale and external customer repairs while adhering to federal and state regulations and company policy; resulting in value, quality of work, and a high degree of customer satisfaction. The Repair Supervisor will represent and promote the Sales, Service, and Parts Department operations in a positive manner, which assures customer confidence, repeat business, and maximum return for the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- In the Repair Shop, manage daily operations and maintain shop schedule with input from Director of Operations.
- Supervising and directing the completion of shop repair orders, including technical problem solving.
- Communicate timeline of repair order completion, including when there are delays or adjustments in the original timeline.
- Quality control inspection on all work that leaves the shop to ensure completion of job and safety of equipment. Maintain the “Opperman Standard” on all work that is done in our shop.
- Track all repairs orders, including paperwork, from start to finish.
- Analyze shop efficiencies. Update and implement process improvement to increase productivity.
- Review, establish, and enforce standards for labor and materials to control job cost.
- Implement use of Karmak Fusion in the shop. Utilize Karmak Fusion for scheduling and repair estimates/quote.
- Maintain daily records of time spent on each piece of equipment through Karmak Time Entry system. Daily time card reconciliation and approval.
- Utilize Karmak for Parts Requisitions from Back Counter Parts Team for parts needed on repair orders.
- Complete accurate repair shop estimates for internal and external jobs.
- Review and close internal and external repair orders, ensuring labor and parts are accounted for and accurate.
- Collaborate with Director of Operations and other Shop Supervisors to ensure most efficient and cost effective completion of equipment in shop.
- Primary contact for external customers:
- Field external customer phone calls, providing excellent customer service.
- Schedule and communicate status of external jobs.
- Repair estimates, complaint resolution, technical problem solving.
- Ensure repair shop team removes, cleans, repairs, reinstalls and adjusts all vehicle components upon completion.
- Lead team to maintain immediate shop area used to be clean and free from safety hazards and replace all Company tools used to the proper storage area.
- Adhere to and provide input for company budget.
- Enforce and follow all safety regulations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage the Repair Shop Team. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Opperman’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipline employees, and resolving problems.
Education / Experience:
- High School diploma or GED - Basic reading, writing, measurement, and arithmetic skills (Required)
- Minimum 5 years Shop Supervision experience (Preferred)
- Minimum 10 years heavy duty truck mechanical repair experience (Required)
Language Skills:
- Bi-Lingual (Preferred)
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Excellent interpersonal, telephone, verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Strong modern diagnostic skills and heavy duty truck mechanical knowledge
- Ability to work on a broad array of equipment makes and models

Diesel Mechanic/Welder (Healdsburg, CA)
Pay range $20 to $50 per hour depending on experience and tools
Employment type: full-time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities include the repair and inspection of various types of cargo tanks, (DOT 406 and MC 306), trailers, body swaps, and/or new body installations. This position does not require engine repair skills.
- Always enforce and follow safety policies and procedures
- The use of acetylene and electrical equipment in the fabricating, welding, and cutting, of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in accordance with cargo tank regulations.
- Trailer repairs, body installs, suspension, axles, wiring, PTO, etc.
- Review plans with Management and agree on repairs to be made
- Perform VKIP Inspections according to cargo tank regulations.
- Welded repair and pressure test on cargo tanks and required documentation.
- Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames, bodies, truck and trailer accessories, pump systems, and pressure vessels.
- Communicate with Management when repairs are needed beyond the original diagnosis.
- Maintain daily records of time spent on each piece of equipment through timecards
- Provide completed Parts Requisitions to Back Counter Parts person for parts needed
- Remove, cleans, repairs, reinstall and adjust all vehicle components upon completion
- Maintain immediate shop area used to be clean and free from safety hazards
- Replace all Company tools used to the proper storage area
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
High School diploma or GED (required to be considered for position)
Qualifications:
Certified welder
Previous mechanic experience (preferred not required)
Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
Work Requirements:

Journeyman Diesel Mechanic (Healdsburg, CA)

Duties include but are not limited to diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. New Parts Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Healdsburg, CA)
Pay Range $17 to $20 per hour

Summary: The Shipping / Receiving Clerk has the primary responsibility of accurately shipping and receiving inventory. The clerk must be able to multi-task and complete all paperwork accurately.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Receive inventory throughout the work day
• Immediately check in and deliver all special orders
• Check in all stock orders and put in proper locations
• Insure all stock and special orders are delivered or put away each day
• Package and prepare all documentation for outbound shipments
• Insure all outbound orders are picked up on a daily basis
• Pick orders for delivery and prepare outgoing paperwork
• Complete and maintain accurate paperwork as required
• Clean, revise, and update store displays as directed
• Process all returns and complete paperwork
• Attend training as required

Requirements:

• Valid drivers license with clean driving record (required)
